Experimental Atelier No.1: Exploring AI in Dance Creation
From May 2-5, the first Experimental Atelier as part of the PREMIERE project took place at Amsterdam University of the Arts and IDlab. This event focused on the innovative integration of the AI Toolbox by Instituto Stocos into the latest creation by Emio Greco, Pieter C. Scholten, and Franck Krawczyk titled “WE the Lust/Nous le Radeau.” This performance is set to premiere at the Philharmonie Paris on December 24.
9th International Conference on Movement and Computing MOCO’24
The partners from the PREMIERE project presented at the 9th International Conference on Movement and Computing, held at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, from Thursday, May 30 to Sunday, June 2, 2024.
This year’s theme was “Beyond Control”.
“We celebrated MOCO’s 10th anniversary, where researchers from the arts, humanities, and sciences came together for interdisciplinary exchanges at the intersection of movement and computing”, orginizers said.
The conference was organized by the research group Transmission in Motion at the Department of Media and Culture Studies at Utrecht University, in collaboration with the SPRING Performing Arts Festival and Utrecht Pride.
Highlights included:
– Workshop by Ezequiel Santos, Forum Dança: “Archiving (for the future) and PREMIER’s innovations”
– Workshop by Kleanthis Neokleous, CYENS Centre of Excellence: “VR technologies and innovations for Theatre and Dance Performances”
– Workshop by Dr. Daniel Bisig, Instituto Stocos: “Technologies of the STOCOS AI TOOLBOX”.
