New Policy Brief Now Available on Zenodo: Promoting Inclusive Innovation in Digital Technologies for Heritage Preservation.
We are excited to announce that the joint cluster policy brief, prepared in collaboration with our Horizon Europe cluster partners, has been published and is now available in the Zenodo community. This brief provides valuable insights into policy frameworks aimed at supporting cultural heritage, fostering innovation, and promoting digital inclusion across Europe.
In today’s European heritage and innovation landscape, it is crucial to promote collaboration between technological firms, research institutes, universities, and the cultural sector. The goal is to create services that preserve cultural heritage while also addressing digital inclusion and literacy. These efforts seek to close skills gaps, encourage innovation, and make cultural heritage more accessible through interdisciplinary education, digital transformation, and shared infrastructures.
This policy brief outlines actionable recommendations to bridge expertise gaps, build capacity, and promote inclusion within the cultural heritage sector. The projects involved—MEMENTOES, MEMORISE, MuseIT, PREMIERE, and SHIFT—are working under the EU’s Horizon 2020 program, focusing on the digitisation of cultural heritage, including “born digital” heritage, ensuring its sustainable preservation and wide accessibility.
